Market Updates: May 6th, 2025

Tariffs: De Minimis (goods valued at or under $800) from China and Hong Kong was eliminated on May 2nd at 12:01am EDT, per an Executive Order.

Additionally, tariffs have had an impact on truckload tender volumes, with some markets (like Southern California) seeing five-year lows.  

Diesel update: The average price of diesel decreased by 1.7 cents a gallon. Putting the average price of diesel at $3.497, per the U.S. EIA.

The Midwest region (down 2.4 cents), USWC (down 2 cents), USGC (down 0.9 cents), and the USEC (down 1.8 cents), all saw decreases from last week.
