NY/NJ Port Authority Opens Consolidated Cargo Center at JFK to Ease Truck Congestion

On April 25th the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced the opening of their new consolidated cargo handling center at JFK International Airport. The Port Authority is confident this new $270 million center will help streamline operations and reduce congestion.

Details of the new handling center include a 350,000 square-foot facility spanning 26 acres, per the Port Authority’s press release. They also plan to redevelop the airport’s north cargo area for present and future long-term cargo growth, through newer and more efficient cargo facilities.
